Gordon & Rees to Present March 15 Webinar on The Ethics of Conflicts of Interest

As part of the firm’s 2017 National Professional Liability Webinar Series, Gordon & Rees will hold a webinar titled “The Ethics of Conflicts of Interest,” on March 15 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. PST.

The live, bi-monthly webinars offer free, practical tips on current and emerging legal issue for professionals to more effectively manage their practice. Gordon & Rees attorneys provide claims professionals, in house and general counsel, and attorneys in all practice areas with a convenient way to stay up to speed with simple steps they can implement to protect themselves and their firms from malpractice exposure.

For the March webinar, attorneys from Gordon & Rees’s Professional Liability Defense Practice Group will give practical advice about how to handle common conflicts of interest issues. Gordon & Rees partner Paul Gamboa and associate Stephanie Jones will address issues such as: when is one barred from representing multiple clients or appearing adversely to a current or former client? When is the representation permitted with the clients’ informed consent, and how should consent be obtained? How do courts handle alleged conflicts when they are raised in disqualification motions? Which conflicts are the most frequent subject of disciplinary decisions and lawsuits – and how can they be avoided? A Q&A session will follow the webinar.
