Biography

Ayana Parker is an Associate in the Raleigh office of GRSM and a graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of Miami School of Law. Her health care practice focuses on defending providers, hospitals, and long-term care facilities against claims of medical malpractice, as well as before professional licensing boards. Ayana also defends professionals in a wide range of industries, including lawyers, real estate agents, and insurance agents and brokers. In addition, Ayana represents businesses, insurance companies, and their insureds in all manner of complex commercial disputes, including breach of contract claims, TCPA, FDCPA and FCRA claims, and franchise disputes. Ayana also represents insurance companies, their insureds, businesses, and non-profit organizations in appellate matters. She has drafted appellate briefs filed in the Florida Supreme Court, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. 

Prior to joining GRSM, Ayana worked at regional firms defending health care providers against medical malpractice claims and defending insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims in North Carolina. She gained experience working in a fast paced environment where she was able to argue motions and submit briefs in state court and the Industrial Commission. Outside of work, Ayana is a bar exam tutor working with recent law school graduates preparing for each upcoming bar exam. She is also an all-star cheerleading and tumbling coach and an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where she assists on a number of community outreach initiatives including HBCU awareness and scholarships and partnering with Habitat for Humanity to assist in local building and community programs.
