Kevin J. Craig is a partner in the Seattle office of GRSM and a member of the firm’s Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. Kevin’s practice focuses on toxic tort, product liability, and other personal injury litigation, including defending manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and premise owners in asbestos-related personal injury and wrongful death actions, and representing contractors and premise owners in serious personal injury cases.

Kevin’s practice also concentrates on insurance-related litigation, with an emphasis on defending insurance agents, brokers, and agencies in negligence and professional liability actions.

In addition, Kevin has substantial experience handling commercial litigation, construction, and consumer protection matters at both the trial and appellate levels.

Representative Experience

• Defending equipment manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and premise owners in personal injury and wrongful death cases alleging exposure to asbestos and other toxins.
• Defending general contractors and premise owners in serious personal injury accident claims, including a recent case in which he obtained summary judgment for a general contractor in a personal injury accident case involving allegedly defective machinery.
• Defending insurance agents, brokers, and agencies against claims brought by insureds alleging that they obtained insufficient policy limits or coverages.
• Defending a legal professional liability insurer in a bad faith action based on the denial of a claim arising from the insured lawyer’s personal business transactions. The case settled shortly after the filing of a motion for summary judgment.
• Defending a national insurer in several consumer class actions brought by policyholders alleging bad faith and Consumer Protection Act violations, including Sitton v. State Farm, 116 Wn. App. 245, 63 P.3d 198 (2003).
• Representing contractors, consultants, and owners in claims on private construction and public works projects as well as counseling clients on lien claims and procedures, including serving as lead trial counsel in the successful defense of a construction lien claim.
• Defending McDonald’s Corporation in putative class actions brought by vegetarian consumers alleging inadequate disclosure of the ingredients in French fries.
• Representing corporate clients in actions challenging local government regulatory fees as unconstitutional taxes under the Washington State Constitution.
