Biography

Rebecca H. Stone is an Associate in the Miami office of GRSM and is a member of the Labor and Employment, Professional Liability Defense, Insurance, Commercial Litigation, and Trucking & Transportation practice groups.

Rebecca was born and raised in San Francisco, California, before moving to sunny South Florida where she worked for several years in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale luxury yacht industry. She attended Florida International University and earned first a Paralegal Certificate then a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations while working at a notable Miami law firm and for three well respected retired Miami judges serving in private practice. She earned her Juris Doctorate degree from St. Thomas University College of Law where she was awarded the student merit scholarships every year and was on the Dean’s List. Rebecca was a member of school’s nationally recognized trial team and earned a Cali Award in Trial Advocacy Practice. In her 2L and 3L years, she worked as a LexisNexis student representative teaching other students how to perform accurate and efficient legal research. While in law school, Rebecca obtained internships with the City Attorney’s Office of Coral Gables and with the Third District Court of Appeal as a summer law clerk for the Honorable Judge Bronwyn C. Miller. Rebecca also did a significant amount of volunteer work while in law school. She assisted in mock trial events for high school students, and volunteered at Lotus House Women’s Shelter, serving meals and fundraising for holiday gifts for its clients. Rebecca also initiated and founded an annual law student holiday fundraiser for the maintenance staff of the law school, personally collecting thousands of dollars for the law school maintenance staff.

Outside of the firm, Rebecca is a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL), and the Stephen R. Booher Inn of Court. She is also an avid sports enthusiast and enjoys boxing several times a week, distance cycling, and watching MMA.
