Gordon & Rees Welcomes Twenty-Two New Attorneys in August 2021

In August, Gordon & Rees welcomed twenty-two new attorneys to our Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Florham Park, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Westchester offices. Drew Burford, Associate
San Francisco, Construction

Drew joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Construction practice group. He has experience representing clients in asbestos, benzene and other complex mass toxic tort personal injury and wrongful death claims based in products, premises, and contractor liability before both state and federal courts. He also has extensive experience managing all pre-trial litigation, including pleadings, discovery, law and motion, summary judgment, and substantial fact and witness investigation including expert depositions and lead cross-examination in hundreds of trial-preservation depositions of plaintiffs. Drew earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law and his B.A. from California State University-Chico.


Jason Burt, Associate
Seattle, Professional Liability Defense

Jason joins the Seattle office as a member of the Professional Liability Defense practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Jason’s practice focused on civil litigation matters at a Seattle-based law firm. His practice included school law, employment law, commercial contract disputes, and property disputes. He has represented school districts, municipal governments, and religious entities. Jason earned his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and his B.S. from Utah State University.


Andrew Clifford, Associate
Pittsburgh, Health Care

Andrew joins the Pittsburgh office as a member of the Health Care practice group. His practice is primarily focused on representing hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare professionals and entities with medical malpractice claims. He also represents developers, contractors, and homeowners in commercial litigation and construction-related matters. Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked as an attorney at a Pittsburgh-based law firm practicing in the areas of medical malpractice and commercial litigation. Andrew earned his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.


Canon Corbitt, Associate
Atlanta, Employment Law

Canon joins the Atlanta office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. He represents individual and corporate clients throughout the civil litigation process and during court proceedings including hearings, depositions, and mediation sessions. He advises clients with regard to legal rights and obligations, fiduciary duties, claim liabilities, and regulatory compliance. Canon earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Central Florida.


Amanda D'Amico, Associate
New York, Employment Law

Amanda joins the New York office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She represents management in federal and state court, arbitral forums, and before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Public Employment Relations Board, and the New York State Division of Human Rights. She also counsels private and public sector employers on labor and employment matters, including compliance with federal statutes and regulations and their New York State and local counterparts. Amanda earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego, School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.


Bridget Davidson, Associate
Houston, Employment Law

Bridget joins the Houston office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She has litigated employment claims in a variety of matters, including claims arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Her practice also includes tort and breach of contract matters, including claims brought against businesses, in both state and federal court. Bridget earned her J.D. from Texas A&M School of Law and her B.A. from Sam Houston State University.


Taylor Donoho, Associate
San Diego, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Taylor joins the San Diego office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. She represents clients in a broad range of matters which focus primarily on toxic tort and products liability litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Taylor represented indigent and in-custody clients facing misdemeanor criminal charges at the San Diego County Public Defender’s office. In this capacity, her primary focus was upholding and protecting the Constitutional rights of citizens accused of crimes within San Diego. Taylor earned her J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law and her B.A. from Grand Canyon University.


Danielle Estenssoro, Associate
Denver, Employment Law

Danielle joins the Denver office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She focuses her practice on effective case resolution both in and outside of the courtroom, involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination under Title VII, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, CADA and other federal and state statutes. She has significant experience in workers’ compensation matters and advising clients on Colorado’s Workers’ Compensation Act, Workers’ Compensation Rules of Procedure and Office of Administrative Courts Rules and Procedure. Danielle earned her J.D. from the University of California at Davis, School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California at Davis.


Tanner Gibson, Associate
Nashville, Commercial Litigation

Tanner joins the Nashville office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. He has experience in criminal defense and personal injury law. Tanner earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University and his B.A. from Belmont University.


June Gilson, Senior Counsel
Philadelphia, Insurance

June joins the Philadelphia office as a member of the Insurance practice group. She has experience handling complex, high-exposure environmental, toxic tort, professional liability, construction defect, jewelers’ block coverage and bad faith insurance claims. She has also provided advice on coverage, litigation strategy, bad faith and best practices in claims handling. June earned her J.D. from Delaware Law School and her B.A. from the University of Delaware.

Westchester, Product & General Liability

Edward joins the Westchester office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. He has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in a multitude of complex and high exposure claims including New York State Labor Law litigation, construction accidents and defects, automobile, municipal liability, premises liability, negligent security, negligent supervision, and professional liability matters. Edward earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from New York University.


Kristin Lee, Associate
Florham Park, Commercial Litigation

Kristin joins the Florham Park office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. She regularly handles cases from inception to resolution, including factual investigation, discovery, motion practice, oral advocacy, expert retention, and mediation/settlement negotiations. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in the New York office of a nationwide firm, defending insureds in premises liability, auto/transportation liability, products liability, and labor law actions. She has experience working as coverage and monitoring counsel for various Underwriters in connection with healthcare professional liability and general liability claims. Kristin earned her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and her B.A. from The State University of New York at Binghamton.

Los Angeles, Employment Law

Taline joins the Los Angeles office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. She has experience defending public and private entities in labor and employment matters in state and federal court, quasi-judicial forums, arbitration, and administrative hearings pertaining to FEHA related claims, labor code violations, wrongful termination, and various internal disciplinary actions. She also defends medical and dental professionals against malpractice suits. Taline earned her J.D. from Western State College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Southern California.


Jose Martinez, Associate
Miami, Employment Law

Jose joins the Miami office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. His practice is focused primarily, and in equal measure, on the areas of employment litigation broadly, as well insurance coverage, with prior experience in the defense of first and third-party property and casualty disputes. He is able to draw upon my familiarity with complex business transactions and business law, to be able to litigate matters implicating questions of corporate governance or arising from the interpretation of corporate documents. Jose earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and his B.A. from Florida International University.


Jillian Mershon, Senior Counsel
Oklahoma City, Commercial Litigation

Jillian joins the Oklahoma City office as a member of the Commercial Litigation practice group. Her practice is focused on the representation of employers and employees in state and federal labor and employment matters and other issues affecting the workplace. She has extensive experience representing both employees and management in all phases of litigation before state and federal courts and regulatory and administrative agencies. Jillian earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School and her B.A. from the University of Oklahoma.


Erin Newman, Senior Counsel
San Francisco, Insurance

Erin joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Insurance practice group. She brings extensive knowledge of appellate practice developed during fifteen years as an appellate attorney in the California Court of Appeal for the First Appellate District, including having drafted over 300 Court of Appeal opinions. Erin earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.


Mark Preiss, Senior Counsel
Boston, Employment Law

Mark joins the Boston office as a member of the Employment Law practice group. He provides employer-side representation before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, in defending against employment law claims. As well, Mark counsels businesses on effective employment law risk management strategies and provides guidance on application of company policies and compliance with federal and state employment statutes, including the federal Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, among others. Mark earned his J.D. from New England School of Law and his double B.A. from the University of Connecticut.


Jeanette Suarez, Partner
San Francisco, Product & General Liability

Jeanette joins the San Francisco office as a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. She represents corporations and individuals in a diverse variety of matters. She focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes representing clients across a broad spectrum of industries in all phases of litigation. She ensures matters run smoothly by assisting with everything from pre-trial motions to trials, post-trials and appeals. Jeanette earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School and her B.S. from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona.


Kelly Telfeyan, Senior Counsel
Nashville, Construction / Commercial Litigation

Kelly joins the Nashville office as a member of the Construction and Commercial Litigation practice groups. Her has included representing clients in disputes subject to arbitration, before state and federal courts, and before governmental agencies with respect to a wide variety of matters, including foreclosure, breach of contract, negligence, leases, and tax appeals. She has also represented private owners, developers, tenants, and contractors in various types of construction and real estate related disputes involving issues such as construction and design defects, licensing requirements, payment claims, mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens, prompt pay claims, and consumer protection act claims (TCPA). Kelly earned her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law and her B.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.


Ashley White, Associate
New York, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Ashley joins the New York office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. Ashley earned her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and her B.A. from Spelman College.


Nathan White, Senior Counsel
Dallas, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Nathan joins the Dallas office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. He brings a highly diverse litigation background with significant experience defending claims of catastrophic personal injury, product liability (including toxic substance exposure), premises liability, construction defects, professional liability, and director/officer liability. In addition, prior to joining the firm he worked as in-house counsel for a state-level government agency, where his responsibilities included both directing and responding to government investigations and allegations of regulatory non-compliance. Nathan earned his J.D. from Brigham Young University, J. Reuben Clark Law School and his B.A. from Brigham Young University.


Rebecca Yang, Associate
San Diego, Environmental/Toxic Tort

Rebecca joins the San Diego office as a member of the Environmental/Toxic Tort practice group. She represents clients in a broad range of matters before state and federal courts. Rebecca earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law and her B.A. from the University of North Carolina.
