San Francisco Partner Adam Sugarman has been unanimously elected to serve as the next Managing Partner of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, effective June 2026.
Sugarman will take over the position from Dion Cominos, who has led the firm since 2006 and will be returning to the full-time practice of law. Cominos noted, “Adam is the ideal individual to lead GRSM into the future. He has a keen business mind, is highly innovative, and is also exceptionally intuitive about motivating and inspiring people.”
Sugarman, 46, joined GRSM in 2005 and currently serves as its Northern California Managing Partner, overseeing a broad region that includes offices in San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, Monterey, and Fresno. He is also a member of GRSM’s Executive Committee, acts as the firm’s Chief Employment Counsel, and has supervisory responsibilities for its entire Pacific Northwest operations.
“The strength of GRSM is its people, and I look forward to working with our teams nationwide as we embark on our next half-century together,” shared Sugarman.
In addition to Sugarman, GRSM’s new leadership team will be bolstered by the additions of Pittsburgh Co-Managing Partner Manoj Jegasothy, who will act as Deputy Managing Partner, Named Partner Miles Scully, who will serve as the firm’s Chairman Emeritus, and Chicago Co-Managing Partner Stephanie Jones, who will preside over a forthcoming Firmwide Management Council, overseeing firm operations.
“I am eager to get to work alongside Miles, Stephanie, and Manoj,” said Sugarman. “Their diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experience will make us a much stronger organization.”
The enhanced management structure, which will also go into effect in June of next year, is reflective of both the vast size and broad geographic reach of the organization, which currently stands as the 11th largest United States law firm, the fastest growing among the Am Law 100, and the only legal services business of its kind with lawyers and offices in all 50 states.
“It’s been an amazing 20-year journey,” continued Cominos. “But the time was right to hand the reins of stewardship over to the next generation. I am both extremely excited and bullish about the firm’s future and have no doubt that Adam and the other highly talented individuals on the leadership team will take GRSM to even greater heights in the years ahead.”
