Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Dallas Partner Reese Wade achieved three significant legal victories across multiple Texas judicial district courts in early 2025. He successfully represented clients in a real property title dispute on behalf of an individual homeowner, a breach of contract dispute on behalf of a national banking institution, and a breach of contract dispute on behalf of a homebuilder.
Defending Property Rights in Real Estate Dispute
Wade secured a complete defense victory for a homeowner in a real estate dispute involving suit to quiet title and trespass-to-try-title claims. The plaintiff brought the claims after the defendant purchased the plaintiff’s former residence through a non-judicial foreclosure sale. The plaintiff contended that GRSM’s client was not properly conveyed ownership of the property in connection with the non-judicial foreclosure sale. The 162nd Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas, granted the defendant’s traditional motion for summary judgment, dismissing all claims against GRSM’s client. This ruling reinforces GRSM’s reputation in real estate law, ensuring that rightful property ownership is determined and upheld under the law.
Securing Judgment for National Banking Institution
In a high-stakes financial litigation, Wade represented a national banking client in a bench trial concerning a breach of contract claim against a personal guarantor on an SBA loan. The 17th Judicial District Court, Tarrant County, Texas, ruled in favor of the bank, awarding more than $700,000 in actual damages, attorneys’ fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, and court costs.
Successful Prosecution of Commercial Business Dispute
Wade also successfully represented a homebuilder in a commercial business dispute involving breach of contract, quantum meruit, Texas Theft Liability Act, and suit on sworn account claims against the homebuilder’s former clients. The 298th Judicial District Court, Dallas County, Texas, granted the plaintiff’s traditional motion for summary judgment on its suit on sworn account claim, awarding GRSM’s client actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys’ fees, and court costs. This ruling secured a complete victory for the firm’s client.
These three significant rulings—secured between January 30, 2025, and February 20, 2025—reflect Wade’s exceptional litigation skills and GRSM’s ability to achieve favorable outcomes across multiple venues.
