The New York Legal Awards honor attorneys and judges whose professional excellence, innovation, and leadership have made a significant impact on the legal profession across the state. The Distinguished Leader category recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership through meaningful contributions to their firms, clients, and the broader legal community.

Colwin was selected for her remarkable track record of litigation success, her role in shaping the growth and culture of GRSM’s New York office, and her tireless advocacy for mentorship and diversity in the legal field. Over the past year, she continued to serve as lead counsel on high-profile employment and commercial matters, guided firmwide strategic initiatives, and provided thought leadership across national media platforms.

As one of the nation’s most prominent trial lawyers, Colwin has won over 90% of the trials and arbitrations she’s conducted, and is widely respected for her dedication to excellence, both in and out of the courtroom. Her selection as a Distinguished Leader reflects not only her legal achievements, but also her long-standing commitment to developing the next generation of legal talent and advancing the legal profession.

The winners in all finalist categories will be announced at the New York Legal Awards dinner on September 4, 2025, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City.
