Balian focuses her practice on employment law and litigation. In addition to vigorously defending private employers and municipalities against employment-related and civil rights litigation in federal and state court, as well as administrative claims filed with the EEOC and MDCR, she serves as a trusted advisor to clients day-to-day on employment-related matters. Acting as outside general counsel, Balian provides proactive guidance on workplace policies, personnel decisions, investigations, disciplinary actions, and compliance issues, helping clients to minimize risk, avoid litigation, and achieve practical business objectives. She also works as a magistrate at the 52/3 District Court in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
