Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Charleston Managing Partner Peter G. Siachos and Livingston, New Jersey Partner Jennifer A. Guidea have co-authored the New Jersey chapter of the American Bar Association’s (ABA) newly released book titled Franchise Relationship Laws: A Practical Guide.
The book provides a comprehensive state-by-state overview of laws governing the relationship between franchisors and franchisees across the country. The New Jersey chapter offers an in-depth look at the state’s franchise statutes, most notably the New Jersey Franchise Practices Act, and highlights key requirements.
Siachos has extensive experience litigating and enforcing franchise agreement terminations, non-competition restrictions, forum selection clauses, indemnification provisions, and liquidated damages provisions. He has had repeated success in enjoining trademark infringement on behalf of his franchisor clients and has obtained injunctive relief against franchisees in a number of jurisdictions. Siachos was honored as a “Legal Eagle” by Franchise Times in 2019, 2021, and 2025, recognizing his deep understanding of the franchise industry.
Guidea has substantial experience representing franchisors, including several well-known national and international companies in the real estate, food and beverage, physical fitness, and personal services industries. She has litigated and enforced non-compete restrictions, trademark infringement, termination disputes, and vicarious liability claims. Guidea has repeatedly obtained injunctive relief against non-compliant franchisees, in addition to recovering monetary damages. She has also assisted franchisors with drafting franchise agreements and provided counseling on state and federal regulatory action.
