GRSM Secures Significant Sanctions Order in Profit-Sharing Dispute

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Partner John Crone and Senior Counsel Suzanne Adler achieved a substantial victory for their client, a successful real estate agent, in ongoing litigation against a real estate brokerage. The dispute has lasted over two years and concerns proper payment under a profit-sharing agreement.

Throughout the litigation, the brokerage repeatedly withheld critical information necessary for the real estate agent to calculate damages. After multiple sanctions, the court issued a significant order granting the agent $177,000 in monetary sanctions and full reimbursement for expert witness and attorney’s fees—amounting to approximately $70,000. Most notably, the court ruled that the brokerage cannot challenge the bulk of the agent’s expert’s damages opinion at trial, a crucial advantage for the client.

This order represents a remarkable outcome and underscores the severity of sanctions for discovery violations. GRSM has a proven track record of advocating for clients in complex business disputes, ensuring they receive the legal protections and remedies they deserve.
