Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani is pleased to announce that Dion Cominos, the firm’s immediate past Firmwide Managing Partner, was featured by The Recorder as a Distinguished Leader Honoree for the 2026 California Legal Awards.
In the feature, Cominos reflected on several of the firm’s proudest accomplishments, including GRSM’s becoming the first and only full-service law firm with attorneys and offices in all 50 states, surpassing $1 billion in billings/revenues, and becoming the sixth largest law firm in the United States. He noted that the firm accomplished these milestones “without compromising culture, without incurring any debt, and ensuring that the next generation of leaders is provided with a platform from which they can meaningfully succeed.”
Cominos also shared his perspective on successful leadership qualities, noting that it is essential to “subordinate your ego for the good of the organization. Don’t focus on being right; focus on getting it right.” He emphasized the importance of listening to others, remaining willing to reconsider perspectives/change course, and incorporating the very best ideas from a variety of sources to produce the strongest outcomes.
Looking ahead, Cominos discussed the continued evolution of the legal profession and the need for lawyers to embrace technology while also strengthening those skills that cannot be replaced by it, including nuanced judgment, innovation, emotional intelligence, communication and persuasion.
