Chloe Woods Elected as Chair of the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Phoenix associate Chloe Woods was sworn in as Chair-Elect of the National Bar Association (“NBA”) Young Lawyers Division (“YLD”). The NBA YLD is a Division of the National Bar Association. Founded in 1925, the NBA is the oldest and largest network of predominantly African American attorneys and judges. YLD represents the interests of lawyers of color under 40 years of age.

Woods will assume the role as Chair of the NBA YLD at the conclusion of the 96th Annual Meeting in Memphis, Tennessee in July 2021. In this role, she will implement programming objectives, fundraise, secure grant funding, and engage in outreach efforts to other diverse bar associations and create professional development opportunities for NBA members.

Woods is a member of the Employment Law, Commercial Litigation, and Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors' Rights practice groups. Woods has maintained a diverse practice, representing clients in state and federal courts, as well as administrative proceedings, holding roles with the United States Postal Service, Assistant Attorney General at the Arizona Attorney General's Office, Executive Director & General Counsel of the Virgin Islands Bar Association, Judge Advocate in the United States Air Force, Assistant City Counselor for the City of St. Louis, and Corporate Counsel at Peabody Energy Corporation.
