Abigail H. Kregor

Abigail “Abby” Kregor focuses her practice on representing businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation, including commercial disputes and professional liability matters. Abigail has wide experience defending insurers in coverage disputes and first-party bad faith actions, as well as representing insurance agencies and employers in a variety of claims. She also has a strong background in ERISA matters, handling disputes related to employee benefits and fiduciary obligations. Additionally, she advises and represents energy and utility companies in a diverse range of legal issues.

Abigail is an active leader in the legal community, serving as an Executive Council Member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. Before joining GRSM, she gained valuable judicial experience as a law clerk for the Honorable Morris B. Hoffman of the Denver District Court, where she worked on a broad spectrum of civil litigation cases.

During law school, Abigail distinguished herself both academically and professionally. She earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Litigation Skills and was recognized with the Outstanding Clinical Student Award for her exceptional work in her clinical program. She also served as the Senior Comments and Notes Editor for the Tulane Journal of Technology and Intellectual Property.

  • Successfully secured summary judgment for an insurance agency in a case involving allegations of insufficient policy limits.
  • Achieved dismissal of negligence claims against an insurance agency by demonstrating the expiration of the statute of limitations.
  • Effectively resolved multiple disputes involving extra-contractual and breach of contract claims against insurers.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of a title agency in a complex contractual dispute.
  • Secured summary judgment for insurance agents in litigation concerning a large vacation homeowner’s policy.
  • Defended a utility company in a breach of contract case, obtaining summary judgment in a dispute over royalty calculations.
  • Secured Rule 12(b) dismissal of negligence and breach of fiduciary duty claims against insurance agents, citing the statute of limitations and insufficient factual allegations.
  • Obtained Rule 12(b) dismissal of negligence and Colorado Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) claims against an insurance agent by demonstrating that the alleged injury occurred outside the relevant policy period and lacked evidence of deceptive trade practices.
  • Delivered a defense verdict after a ten-day jury trial on negligent misrepresentation claims involving an opinion letter in a business transaction.
  • Successfully defended a utility company against a personal injury claim arising from electrical contact, obtaining a favorable judgment.
  • Achieved favorable outcomes in legal malpractice claims, including disputes over a former client’s divorce settlement and a personal injury action.
  • Secured a defense judgment in a healthcare benefits dispute governed by ERISA.
  • Obtained summary judgment in a legal malpractice case involving a dispute over a former client’s divorce and child support arrangements.
