Abbey A. Fritz

Senior Counsel

Abbey Fritz has a strong background in civil defense including medical malpractice, correctional medicine, labor and employment, and general and professionally liability. She has extensive experience defending healthcare providers against Section 1983 claims across various disciplines, including medical, dental, nursing and mental health in correctional facilities, juvenile justice centers, and mental health facilities in Illinois and Missouri. Abbey has developed a reputation for being a zealous advocate and implementing thoughtful litigation strategies for effective and efficient client-centric results.

Before joining the firm, Abbey was an Assistant United States Attorney defending the interest of the United States. She routinely handled discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII on behalf of government agencies. Her agency representation extended into protection of the government’s rights in the administration of its programs on appeal as well as defending against general liability and property rights claims.

Abbey’s legal representation continues on into managing appellate matters. Having briefed and argued appeals in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, this knowledge and experience provides dimension to her case management leading to more well-rounded litigation strategies and improved client outcomes at the initial litigation and in the event of an appeal.
