Alexandra M. Taboada is Senior Counsel in the Tampa office of GRSM and is a member of the Insurance practice group with focus on general liability and auto negligence. Alexandra has worked with several major insurance carriers as both in-house counsel and retained counsel handling the defense of first- and third-party auto negligence cases as well as matters involving personal injury and property damage including premises liability, negligent security, and cases involving accusations of sexual assault. Over the course of her career Alexandra has also handled matters involving subrogation, medical malpractice, and insurance fraud.

With a background that includes extensive litigation experience- both civil and criminal- and working for insurance companies, Alexandra brings a unique perspective to the resolution of existing and potential issues her client’s face. Additionally, Alexandra continues to further her insurance education by completing the CPCU 500 and 520 exams.

Following her completion of law school, Alexandra was an Assistant State Attorney in the Felony Trial Division for the State Attorney’s Office in Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit where she litigated nearly 50 jury trials and numerous bench trials. While in law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Alexandra wrote for the Entertainment Law Review and was a member of both the Black and Hispanic Law Student Associations. She also participated in a Civil Rights Restoration Program and worked as a Claims Service Representative for a major insurance carrier.

Alexandra’s passion for broadcasting and entertainment led her to become the host of a Midday Radio show in Gainesville while in law school and subsequently a weekend radio personality for WPOW Power 96 in Miami, Florida.
