Amir has experience in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration, including case strategy, discovery, dispositive motions, settlement, and trial. His experience includes obtaining a directed defense verdict following a six-day jury trial, multiple bench trial judgments in favor of national clients, and favorable rulings on dispositive motions.

  • Defended national housing developer/general contractor – $3M payment dispute by plumbing subcontractor on $70M D.C. apartment project; co-chaired six-day jury trial (D.C. Superior Court); secured a directed verdict.
  • Defended nationwide credit union – claim for reimbursement of allegedly unauthorized debit card transactions (Fairfax County GDC, VA); judgment for defense after bench trial.
  • Defended major U.S. retail shipping franchise – claim alleging theft of high-value package (Baltimore County Circuit Court, MD); judgment for defense after bench trial.
  • Defended global event production company – motor vehicle accident case (Prince George’s County District Court, MD); judgment for defense after bench trial.
  • Defended national sporting goods retailer – refund dispute over allegedly stolen merchandise (Prince William County GDC, VA); summary judgment based on shipment-contract terms and Va. UCC risk-of-loss provisions.
  • Defended independent contractor for national insurer – benefits-enrollment dispute (U.S. District Court, D. Md.); favorable settlement with minimal client contribution after mediation.
  • Defended national medical billing company – arbitration claim by large medical practice; won motion enforcing limitation-of-liability clause as clear, enforceable, and applicable to all claims.
  • Defended prominent employer – EEOC disability-accommodation charge; charge dismissed.
  • Defended national insurer – IT contractor dispute over alleged nonpayment (Arlington County Circuit Court, VA); secured dismissal of amended complaint.
  • Represented commercial landlords – alter-ego/fraudulent-conveyance claims to enforce prior lease judgment (Fairfax County Circuit Court, VA); pierced corporate veil and obtained default judgment of more than $200K.
  • Pro Bono – Assisted in post-conviction Rule 32 petition; drafted several sections addressing ineffective assistance claims. (St. Clair County, Alabama).
