Anthony J. Interlandi

Senior Counsel

Anthony (“Tony”) Interlandi helps employers navigate the full spectrum of workplace issues from day-to-day compliance and investigations to defending claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination.

Tony’s approach is grounded in strategy, communication, and practical judgment. He understands the business realities behind employment disputes and works closely with leadership and HR teams to prevent problems before they escalate and to resolve them efficiently when they do.

Litigation and Trial Experience

Tony has extensive experience in state and federal courts across Connecticut. He’s handled every stage of the litigation process, including discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and trial.

  • Drafted and argued dispositive motions on behalf of clients.
  • Achieved favorable outcomes for both individuals and employers through settlements and trial results.
  • Secured a plaintiff’s verdict in an employment retaliation and defamation case in federal court.

Advisory and Investigations Work

In addition to his courtroom practice, Tony advises employers on internal investigations, compliance audits, and workplace culture issues. He holds a Certificate in Workplace Investigations from Michigan State University and frequently partners with clients to identify risks, assess claims, and build proactive solutions that align with organizational goals.

Background

Before joining GRSM, Tony founded and led a boutique employment law firm representing both employees and employers. That experience gives him a rare, 360-degree perspective on workplace dynamics and how to best position clients for success.

Tony is admitted to practice in Connecticut and New York. He lives in Kensington, Connecticut with his wife, two children, and a rotating cast of family pets.

 

  • Successfully defended two nurse anesthetists in breach of contract/violation of non-compete lawsuit in Connecticut state court.
  • Obtained reasonable cause finding for employer client in Connecticut state agency where complainant alleged claims of disability and age discrimination.
  • Secured a plaintiff’s verdict in a Connecticut employment discrimination case.
  • Secured a 7-figure plaintiff’s verdict in an employment retaliation and defamation case in federal court.
