Ashley Gadson Andrews

Senior Counsel

Since the beginning of her legal career, Ashley has been dedicated to litigation practice. As a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles, she attended court hearings daily to handle cases ranging from arraignments to post-trial sentencing. Ashley also assisted sheriff detectives with trainings relating to the investigation of sexual assault and domestic violence issues.

As an immigration judge, Ashley presided over various immigration-related issues. In this role, she interacted with Department of Homeland Security prosecutors, Respondent’s counsel, and pro se respondents daily. She also ruled on motions, and, given the fluidity of immigration law, she routinely researched new cases.

  • Extensive bench and jury trial experience in criminal courts throughout Los Angeles County. Successfully tried to thirty felonies to verdict. Conducted over 300 preliminary hearings for cases ranging from murder, assault, robbery, and domestic violence. In this role, her client was the People of the State of California.
  • Appointed as an Immigration Judge under Attorney General Merrick Garold. Adjudicated immigration cases related to asylum, withholding of removal, convention again torture, immigration fraud, adjustment of status for non permanent and permanent residence. Routinely handled caseloads between 1200 to 1500 in Los Angeles, California and Annandale, Virigina.
