Austin M. Pegues represents and defends employers of all sizes, from large corporations and mid-market companies to insurers — in the full range of California labor and employment disputes.

Austin defends employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), as well as wage and hour and Labor Code violations. He represents clients in both California state and federal courts, and appears before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DIR). Austin handles every phase of litigation, from initial case evaluation and risk assessment through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and resolution.

In addition to his litigation practice, Austin counsels employers on practical strategies to reduce risk and avoid litigation, advising on employee handbooks, workplace policies and procedures, classification, separation agreements, and day-to-day compliance with California’s employment laws, among the most demanding in the nation. He approaches each engagement with a focus on protecting his clients’ interests efficiently and achieving results that minimize business disruption.
