Brian J. Schneider focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, with particular emphasis on product liability, toxic torts, maritime law, and appellate advocacy. For more than two decades, he has represented manufacturers, shipyards, vessel owners, transportation companies, and other corporate defendants in high-exposure litigation pending in state and federal courts throughout the country.

Brian has developed a national practice defending claims arising from Navy and commercial vessel exposures and has extensive experience litigating issues involving federal jurisdiction, government contractor immunities, and the unique substantive and procedural issues presented by general maritime law. He regularly advises clients on litigation strategy, indemnity and insurance issues, successor liability, case valuation, and coordinated national defense strategies.

Earlier in his career, Brian founded and served as the managing member of a litigation boutique, where he remained an active member of national coordinating counsel teams for a leading industrial manufacturer. He has managed complex, multi-party litigation through every stage of the litigation process, including dispositive motion practice, expert development, trial, and appeal, and his practice also includes catastrophic personal injury, transportation, premises liability, and other complex commercial litigation.

An accomplished appellate advocate, Brian has briefed and argued cases before state and federal appellate courts and has authored briefs resulting in numerous published decisions addressing issues of first impression and significant developments in maritime law, product liability, and asbestos litigation. He is also a frequent author and speaker on maritime law and toxic tort litigation, with work appearing in prominent legal publications where he has written extensively on maritime jurisdiction, government contractor immunity, asbestos litigation, and appellate practice.
