Brian Roth is a litigator and trusted advisor who handles high-stakes disputes for clients in Illinois and nationwide. With a practice spanning business litigation, employment, environmental, and product liability matters, Brian delivers smart, practical solutions with urgency, precision, and results.

He regularly leads complex matters in state and federal courts coast-to-coast, and has handled jury trials throughout the Midwest. Whether serving as national coordinating counsel or steering bet-the-company litigation, Brian brings an unrelenting focus on execution and outcomes. Clients value him as a one-stop resource—especially those operating across multiple states or in highly regulated industries.

Brian’s commercial litigation work includes contract disputes, business torts, antitrust claims, and trade secret matters, as well as emergency injunction proceedings. He is particularly experienced in restrictive covenant litigation and frequently advises on drafting and enforcing non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.

In the environmental and product liability arena, Brian serves as national counsel for companies facing mass tort litigation and has taken multiple cases to jury verdict or successful resolution at trial. He is well-versed in the medical and scientific issues often involved in such matters. As a leader in the Firm’s Agrichemical Practice Group, Brian represents manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in disputes involving crop protection products and FIFRA-regulated formulations, as well as related commercial litigation.

In the employment sector, Brian represents management in class actions and other litigation involving alleged discrimination, wage-and-hour disputes, and employee benefits. He also counsels on risk management strategies, regulatory compliance, and the development of employment policies.

Clients appreciate that Brian doesn’t just spot issues—he solves them. As former co-managing partner of the Firm’s Chicago office, he helped grow it into one of the 25 largest law firm offices in Chicago and one of the Firm’s largest nationwide. He stepped aside from that leadership role in August 2025 to focus full-time on client service.

Brian is deeply committed to pro bono work, having served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem and long-time mentor with Chicago-based nonprofit organizations. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he earned his J.D. with honors and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.
