Brian Roth represents companies in high-stakes litigation in Illinois and across the country. Clients turn to Brian when the issues are complex, the consequences are substantial, and they need a lawyer who will take ownership of the problem and see it through. He brings a practical, results-oriented approach to significant disputes, combining deep substantive experience with the responsiveness, judgment, and attention to detail that sophisticated litigation demands.

Brian regularly leads litigation in state and federal courts nationwide and has extensive trial experience throughout the Midwest. He serves as national counsel in large-scale litigation and represents companies facing critical business and operational risks. Brian works closely with clients to understand their business, identify the issues that matter most, and develop strategies aligned with their legal and business objectives.

Brian’s commercial litigation practice encompasses contract disputes, business torts, antitrust claims, trade secret litigation, and emergency injunction proceedings. He also has substantial experience litigating restrictive covenant disputes and regularly advises employers on drafting, enforcing, and defending non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.

Brian represents companies in environmental and product liability litigation, including mass tort claims, and has extensive experience with the scientific, medical, and technical issues that often drive these disputes. He has successfully taken multiple cases to jury verdict. As a leader within GRSM’s Agrichemical Practice Group, Brian represents manufacturers, distributors, and retailers in litigation involving crop protection products, FIFRA-regulated formulations, and related commercial disputes.

In the employment arena, Brian represents management in class actions and other litigation involving discrimination, wage-and-hour, and employee benefits claims. He also counsels employers on compliance, risk management, and employment policies designed to prevent disputes and reduce litigation exposure.

Brian previously served as co-managing partner GRSM’s Chicago office, helping lead a period of significant growth that established it as one of the largest offices in Chicago and within the Firm. That experience gives Brian a practical understanding of the business pressures facing corporate clients and the importance of aligning litigation strategy with broader organizational objectives.

Brian is committed to pro bono service and has served as a court-appointed guardian ad litem for dozens of children, as well as a long-time mentor with Chicago-area nonprofit organizations. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he earned his J.D., with honors, and served as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Review.
