Chris Hoffmann focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage matters. Chris represents and provides counseling to London market and domestic insurers on claims arising from attorney malpractice, directors and officers liability, mortgage bankers and brokers liability, employment practices liability, and other claims under professional liability policies. His experience also extends to cybersecurity and crime, fidelity, and franchisor management policies and claims. Chris is known for his tactful approach and keen strategy in claims handling, coverage analysis, preparing coverage position letters, and managing and monitoring actions throughout the United States.

Prior to joining GRSM, Chris was a litigator at a boutique Chicago-based commercial litigation and insurance coverage firm where he represented multimillion dollar companies, small businesses, and private individuals in complex contractual matters and insurance coverage disputes. In his prior role, Chris gained experience litigating coverage disputes arising from commercial general liability and builders risk policies and claims. Chris earned his J.D., cum laude, from Chicago-Kent College of Law and worked as a judicial law clerk for the Circuit Court of Cook County before he entered private practice.

Outside of the office, Chris enjoys exploring Chicago, rooting for the Bears, and performing as the lead singer of a local rock band.
