Cody Kennedy focuses his practice on defending employers against complex class action and representative PAGA claims. He joined the firm after having served as Managing Partner of a prominent California plaintiff-side firm, where he directed the class action division and helped secure more than $204.5 million in client recoveries. Cody’s experience in handling both sides of complex litigation serves as a valuable resource for clients. His approach to litigation utilizes a combination of education and vigorous defense tactics, helping clients both succeed in defending against pending claims and mitigating potential future liability through preventative measures.

Cody is adept at protecting clients’ interests throughout the entire litigation cycle, from pre-litigation investigation through appeal. He has previously served as court-appointed class counsel in wage and hour matters involving as many as 380,000 members and has held the position of lead trial counsel in certified class action and PAGA cases.

In addition to his work in trial court, Cody is a seasoned appellate strategist who has argued before the California Court of Appeal and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has facilitated numerous large-scale and difficult settlements through private and court-led mediation.
