Prior to joining GRSM Daniel served as Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida, defending Florida agencies and officials in Section 1983 and other civil rights litigation before trial courts and the Florida District Courts of Appeal, the United States District Courts for the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. At the start of his career, he clerked for the felony-docket judges for the 19th District Court for Weld County, Colorado. He then practiced for a boutique commercial and real estate litigation firm before moving to an AmLaw 100 firm, where he practiced financial services defense.
Daniel currently chairs the Florida Bar Government Lawyer Section Publication Committee. He is a member of the Florida Bar Health Law Section, the Jacksonville Federal Bar Association, and Chicago’s LGBTQ+ Bar Association. A University of Georgia double-dawg, Daniel also participates in the UGA Mentor Program and enjoys supporting students to identify and pursue their passions.
While Daniel operates out of the Jacksonville office, he now resides in Chicago, where he enjoys exploring Chicago’s vibrant food and art scenes with his fiancé, Collin, and cozy evenings on the couch with their cat Goose.
