David Zimmer provides strategic, business-focused legal counsel to companies navigating growth, risk, and complex transactions. With more than 20 years of experience, he advises clients on acquisitions, operational expansion, regulatory compliance, and cross-border matters—delivering practical solutions aligned with each client’s objectives.

David’s work spans high-stakes initiatives across diverse industries. He has led legal strategy for a multibillion-dollar natural resources project in Northern Ontario’s Ring of Fire region, negotiated major commercial agreements, managed land and mineral rights issues, and coordinated regulatory and environmental compliance in the U.S. and Canada. His experience includes partnering with engineering teams, government agencies, and First Nations communities, as well as advising executive leadership at international manufacturing, luxury consumer goods, and technology companies, both in private practice and in-house.

  • Led legal strategy for a multibillion-dollar natural-resources development project in Northern Ontario’s Ring of Fire region, including land and mineral rights acquisition, major commercial contract negotiation, and coordination with engineering teams, government ministries, and First Nations communities.
  • Advised executive leadership of international manufacturing companies on corporate governance, commercial contracts, product-distribution issues, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Served as General Counsel to luxury consumer-goods and technology companies, managing all legal needs related to growth strategy, intellectual property, commercial agreements, employment matters, and risk management.
  • Negotiated and closed domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, ranging from early-stage strategic investments to large-scale corporate transactions.
  • Developed and implemented compliance, risk-management, and corporate-governance frameworks for organizations undergoing operational expansion or restructuring.
  • Advised companies on major infrastructure and development initiatives, including permitting, environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement, and long-term project planning.
  • Provided ongoing legal and strategic counsel to CEOs and leadership teams, helping them navigate operational decisions, regulatory obligations, and complex business challenges with clarity and confidence.
