Ferris represents a variety of clients in complex commercial disputes across a diverse range of industries and has a significant background in federal court litigation. Devon is a fierce advocate and represents companies in an array of commercial disputes both in and out of the courtroom, including arbitrations, administrative hearings, and private negotiations. She has significant experience in responding to major casualties, conducting accident investigations, and representing companies in governmental agency investigations. In addition to her practical experience, Devon has presented to both lawyers and clients on a variety of admiralty topics, including the Act of God defense in marine casualties, the effect of choice-of-law provisions in maritime insurance policies, and tips and tricks for handling Jones Act and Longshore claims.

Devon earned her undergraduate degree from Villanova University and her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law, where she was awarded membership into the Order of the Barristers and received the Shalom Moot Court Award for excellence in advocacy.  Devon also received several awards for exceptional legal writing, including the Dr. John E. Murray, Jr., Outstanding Writing Award. During law school, she was a member of the nationally ranked Appellate Moot Court Board, served as an Associate Editor of the Duquesne Law Review, and worked as an intern for the now-Chief Justice Debra Todd of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Prior to joining GRSM, Devon was a Shareholder in a Pittsburgh-based law firm where she had a similarly diverse practice involving maritime and admiralty claims, municipal tort defense, high-net worth estates and trusts litigation, general liability claims, and election-law disputes.  Devon has been selected as a “Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch” in five practice areas.
