Eric Cunningham is a North Carolina native and Associate in the firm’s Raleigh office and focuses his practice on construction, employment, and professional liability defense. He has experience in litigating civil matters and counseling companies in navigating strategies to avoid the potential for future litigation.

Prior to joining GRSM, Eric worked for a national, full service employment law firm representing a broad range of employers, from retail shops to general contractors, against allegations arising under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical and Leave Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and various state whistleblower laws. Eric has gained valuable experience on all stages of litigation, including analyzing case law and drafting motions, briefs, and written discovery. Eric also has trial experience representing clients before state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Review Commissions.

Eric received his J.D. from Elon University School of Law. In conjunction with his studies, Eric completed an externship at the North Carolina Court of Appeals where he significantly contributed to the development of evidentiary issues of first impression.
