Elise C. Anderson is an Associate in the firm’s Hawaii office. She is a member of the Insurance and Construction practice groups. Before joining GRSM, Elise practiced on the Trust and Estate Litigation Team of a Honolulu-based law firm, where she worked on probate and trust disputes, contested conservatorships and guardianships, and a high-profile set of civil rights claims. Also before coming to GRSM, Elise clerked for a Los Angeles-based commercial litigation firm. She is licensed to practice law in California, Washington, and Hawaii.

Elise earned her J.D. from Georgetown Law in 2022, where she graduated on the Dean’s List and earned the CALI Excellence Award in Professional Responsibility. During law school and shortly thereafter, she clerked for the Washington, D.C. Department of Health. At the height of the coronavirus pandemic, Elise was the only summer intern reporting directly to the D.C. Health General Counsel, authoring legal briefs that are still utilized by the Agency for policymaking. Also during law school, Elise externed for the Maryland A.G.’s Organized Crimes Unit, where she assisted with felony murder and drug trials.

Elise earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in 2009. During her decade of professional development thereafter, she enjoyed a range of experiences in public policy, education, editorial work, small business, television, talk radio and construction management, in Hawaii, the West Coast and Europe. Highlights include staffing five legislative sessions in the Hawaii State Senate and House of Representatives, a year-long internship at NASA Ames Research Center, authoring 1,700 display captions for the Hawaii State Art Museum, coaching a junior tennis team to win the state championships, completing the U. Hawaii pre-medical curriculum with the highest Organic Chemistry average of all students that year, and teaching English in the Czech Republic.
