Eric R. Deitz is a Partner in GRSM’s Southern California offices and a member of the Professional Liability, Commercial Litigation, and Employment practices. Eric has tried multiple cases to verdict, including a statewide class action in California Superior Court. He actively litigates large loss claims, including professional liability matters involving malpractice claims against attorneys, real estate professionals, accountants, insurance brokers, and agents. He also lectures on legal ethics, e-discovery, and document retention practices and policy.

From 2015 to 2019, Eric served on the Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (“COPRAC”), a standing committee of the California State Bar. COPRAC addresses matters involving legal ethics, and helps educate and provide guidance to attorneys, judges, and the public about the ethical duties of an attorney. In 2011, the invitation-only Legal Ethics Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association (“LEC”) selected Eric as a member, where he served until 2024. He served as the LEC chair in 2017, and as the Vice-Chair in 2016 and 2021. Since 2013, Eric has been recognized by the Southern California edition of Super Lawyers® in the area of Professional Liability Defense.
