Eugenia has represented life and disability insurance companies, financial institutions, mortgage lenders and other business entities in actions involving breach of contract, bad faith, fraud, unfair competition, Consumer Legal Remedies Act, ERISA, asbestos defense and class actions.

Eugenia has experience in all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts, including law and motion practice, attendance at court hearings and mediations, taking and defending depositions, trial preparation, and appellate work.

  • Prevailed on summary judgment in several life insurance rescission and bad faith actions against life insurance clients
  • Negotiated favorable settlements in ERISA and bad faith actions against life insurance clients
  • Obtained reversal of decision denying asylum to pro bono client before the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Parra v. CIGNA Group Insurance, et al., 258 F. Supp. 2d 1058 (N.D. Cal. 2003), aff’d on appeal, 81 Fed.Appx. 932 (Nov. 30, 2003) (granting motion for summary judgment in bad faith life insurance action).
  • Lawless v. Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, et al., 360 F. Supp. 2d 1046 (N.D. Cal. 2005) (granting motion for summary judgment in ERISA action).
