Finis Tatum IV is Managing Partner of the Indianapolis office. He is an experienced trial attorney and practices primarily in the areas of complex commercial litigation and white-collar defense. He brings a strategic and results-driven approach to high profile cases in both state and federal courts.

Finis has successfully represented clients in a broad range of civil litigation matters, including catastrophic injury claims, premises liability, business and contractual disputes, insurance defense, and trucking and transportation, and shareholder and officer liability matters. His clients include global suppliers and manufacturers, financial institutions, municipalities, public universities, professional athletes, business professionals, and public figures.

Finis defends corporations, executives, and individuals in complex criminal matters involving allegations of mail and wire fraud, securities fraud, embezzlement, tax evasion, money laundering, aggravated identity theft, access device fraud, white-collar conspiracies, and corrupt business influence. His experience with government investigations and prosecutorial strategies allows him to provide proactive counsel and strong advocacy during all stages of investigations, enforcement actions and prosecutions.

Finis also represents employers before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Indiana Civil Rights Commission, the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the National Labor Relations Board, the Indiana Workers Compensation Board, and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, and litigates employment discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims in both state and federal court. Prior to joining GRSM, Finis resolved employment matters for Indiana’s largest public transportation corporation and has represented Indiana’s largest physician group in employment-related disputes. Earlier in his career, Finis practiced plaintiff-side employment law, providing him with insight into both perspectives of employment litigation.

Prior to entering private practice, Finis served as a law clerk to former Chief Justice of Indiana, Randall T. Shepard, where he gained invaluable experience in appellate procedure, judicial decision-making, and administration.
