Glenn B. Coffin has practiced in the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since 2005 and the State of Connecticut since 2007. Glenn’s practice is particularly focused on the defense of motor vehicle, heavy equipment, friction, component part and electrical products defense as well as cosmetic product defense in toxic tort, product liability, asbestos and talc litigation in New England. 

He is actively involved in both the Massachusetts and Connecticut Asbestos dockets and is a member of the Massachusetts Asbestos Litigation discovery committee and the Defense Liaison coordination team in Connecticut. He has participated in and conducted many lead examinations of injured plaintiffs, witnesses and experts in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Additionally, he has been actively involved in all aspects of expert discovery, motion practice, trial preparation and ultimate case resolution through judicial and private ADR and direct settlement negotiations

Furthermore, Glenn has experience in the defense of complex personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, fire/explosion loss and property damage claims, municipal litigation, construction litigation, commercial general liability defense, legal malpractice defense, premises, and automobile liability defense.

In addition to his defense practice, he has represented private clients in personal injury actions in Massachusetts and Connecticut state courts, has appeared on behalf of claimants seeking redress for workplace injuries before the Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission, and has worked to obtain Social Security Disability benefits for disabled claimants in federal administrative courts throughout the nation. He has also represented insurers in subrogation actions arising out of catastrophic accidents.

Glenn is an active member of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association, a voluntary, not-for-profit, statewide organization of civil defense attorneys that has been in operation since 1991, having served as president in 2024.

A longtime resident of Clinton, Glenn is an active member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department since 2007 having responded to hundreds of emergencies in multiple capacities as a first responder, firefighter and line officer. He has been involved in classroom and firegrounds service instruction with the Middlesex Country Fire academy since 2013. He has also worked closely with municipal fire and EMS departments and organizations as an adviser concerning employment and membership disputes, medical legal training, and instruction, as well as the development of by-laws, policies, procedures and best practices.
