Gregory M. Meihn is a Partner in the Detroit office of GRSM and is a member of the Employment Law practice group. He focuses his transactional and litigation practice in the core areas of employment and education law. He also has an active construction law practice.
- Hunt v. Joseph Chevrolet, Inc., Tuscola County Circuit Court. Successful ten-day trial defense of multimillion-dollar sexual harassment and hostile work environment claim under Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and Title VII. Court granted attorneys' fees for employer finding the plaintiff's Title VII claims were brought frivolous.
- Arbitration (Names Withheld). Suit brought against residential construction company claiming knowledge of ant infestation which resulted in subsequent damages and injury to home owner. Claim dismissed based upon testimony of expert witnesses.
- Stuart v. Kingsway Builders, Inc. Suit by homeowner against construction company regarding alleged sinking foundation. Summary judgment granted on the basis of limited warranty and six-year statute of limitations.
- Coleman v. American Red Cross, United States District Court East District of Michigan. Successful defense of case of first impression in the State of Michigan regarding HIV and blood bank institution.
- Gullett v. Autoform, Michigan Court of Appeals. Successful defense of circuit court decision dismissing unique case involving Workman’s Compensation Retaliation and ADA claims.
- Mills v. Sova Steel, Inc., Washtenaw County Circuit Court. Acquired dismissal of whistleblower and retaliation for reporting to MIOSHA asbestos issues and other environmental containments.
- Name withheld v. Joseph Pontiac, Inc.; Kucka v North Brothers, United States District Court. Successful defense of automotive companies involving case of first impression Michigan regarding the application of FDRP and Finance Sales Act regarding issuance of “adverse notice” compliance requirements.
- Child No. 231441 v. International Academy of Flint, U.S. Department of Education/MDCR. Successful trial defense of claim against charter school for alleged disability discrimination, Section 504, and No Child Left Behind claims.
- Name withheld v. Marshall Sales, Inc., Wayne County Circuit Court. Successful defense of million-dollar whistleblower claim.
- Name withheld v. name withheld, United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. Successful application of the “crime fraud exception to attorney-client relations” in multi-million-dollar whistleblower case.
- Name withheld v. Sears Holding. Oakland County Circuit Court. Successful jury trial defense on claims involving product liability claim and Consumer Protection Act.
- Represent numerous financial institutions in complex litigation involving NREPA, Clean Air Act, and wetlands litigations. Successful trial verdict representing a Michigan Probate Court involving a claim brought by long-term employee of wrongful termination and violation of union contract.
