After transferring from the University of Oregon School of Law to the William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jackson prioritized gaining practical experience while he pursued his Juris Doctorate. He spent one summer working in-house for a publicly traded corporation that designs and manufacturers essential medical imaging and screening equipment used around the globe, and thereafter, clerked for two separate law firms during his law school tenure. In addition, he served as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Jerome T. Tao at the Nevada Court of Appeals performing legal research and writing. Following graduation, he went on to serve as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable James T. Russell at the First Judicial District Court of Nevada. After his judicial clerkship concluded, he spent his first several years of private practice working for a prominent regional law firm based out of the pacific northwest before joining GRSM.
Jackson offers exceptional experience in effectively advocating for his clients and has gained exposure to multiple areas of law. In particular, he has represented large companies defending against claims for response costs and natural resource damages, including a global player in the energy and resource sector at the Portland Harbor Superfund Site. He has appreciable experience in representing clients with respect to claims asserted under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) and common law, and has handled countless cases within a client’s large environmental portfolio often involving investigation and remediation of real property.
Jackson strives to be well-rounded in order to serve the needs of his clients. In addition to his environmental practice, he has also litigated lawsuits involving real property, torts, and contract law. He has effectively litigated cases implicating the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act (PMPA), claims brought under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and unfair competition claims. Jackson has pursued creditors’ rights actions on behalf of large financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies, and other well-known businesses. Likewise, he has effectively represented popular clients in franchisor-franchisee disputes, and other cases implicating intellectual property, such as trademark infringement and the misappropriation of trade secrets.
