Jamey Hiller is Co-Managing Partner of the Chicago Office. His national litigation practice spans business litigation, employment, class action, professional errors and omissions, ERISA/health benefits, ERISA/retirement benefits, and directors and officers liability, governmental investigations/hearings, and general litigation. He delivers smart, practical solutions with urgency, precision, and results.

Jamey represents companies across the country in ERISA and health-benefits litigation and counseling. He regularly defends third-party administrators, employer-sponsored group health plans, plan fiduciaries, and pharmacy benefit managers in high-stakes disputes, including benefits and coverage claims, class actions, reimbursement/overpayment matters, stop-loss issues, and preemption fights.

Jamey maintains a robust errors-and-omissions defense practice for brokers, property management companies, consultants, and other commercial professionals.

On the counseling side, Jamey helps clients design and maintain compliant health and retirement plans. He drafts and updates plan documents, SPDs and wrap documents; advises on HIPAA privacy and security, COBRA, mental health parity, claims procedures, and fiduciary governance; and guides employers and administrators through audits, regulatory inquiries, and corrective actions.

Jamey also counsels closely held companies and institutes of higher education in areas of compliance, risk management, and business transactions.

Known for his practical, outcomes-first approach, Jamey begins with the client’s end game and works backward—scoping early case assessments, pressure-testing defenses, and mapping settlement versus litigation paths to make sure every step improves the client’s position. He is experienced in federal courts and arbitration forums nationwide.
