James Berg focuses his practice on commercial litigation, financial-services disputes, employment matters, and other complex civil litigation. His experience includes matters involving commercial loans, secured transactions, equipment financing and leasing, foreclosure, judgment enforcement, contract disputes, and federal litigation.

James approaches litigation with an emphasis on practical, business-minded solutions and clear client communication. He has experience handling matters through multiple stages of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation. He works closely with clients to understand their objectives, evaluate risk, and develop strategies tailored to both the legal and practical considerations of each dispute.

Before joining GRSM, James practiced at a Chicago law firm where he gained broad civil and commercial litigation experience and was actively involved in professional networking, business development, mentoring, and firm culture initiatives.
