James Kelly is a senior trial and appellate attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing businesses, financial stakeholders, and public entities in complex commercial litigation and high-stakes regulatory matters in federal and state courts nationwide.

James maintains a diverse commercial litigation practice, with a focus on business disputes involving contracts, fiduciary duties, business torts, antitrust issues, and regulatory enforcement. He represents clients ranging from closely held companies to institutional and industry participants facing significant financial exposure and operational risk. He regularly advises clients in high-stakes, “bet-the-company” litigation and develops strategies to position matters for early resolution, dispositive motion practice, or trial.

A former Assistant Attorney General and Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oklahoma, James has delivered more than 50 appellate oral arguments and brings substantial experience in appellate advocacy, complex motion practice, and regulatory matters. He is particularly skilled in case framing, dispositive briefing, and managing complex discovery in large-scale litigation.

James’ experience spans multiple industries, including energy, manufacturing, media and entertainment, and technology. His practice includes commercial disputes, environmental and regulatory litigation, and intellectual property matters involving copyright and trademark claims.
