Jared Harpt focuses his practice on litigation matters across multiple practice areas, including employment, general liability, and products liability. He has practiced in state and federal courts throughout Kansas and Missouri, including small claims matters and appeals. Jared handles cases at each stage of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, mediations, expert matters, dispositive motions, and trials.
- Served as first chair in a small claims appeal hearing resulting in a significant reduction of the damages award to a nominal amount
- Assisted with preparation of an appellate brief supporting the lower court’s grant of dismissal of all claims in a putative class action products liability case, which the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed
- Prepared a motion for summary judgment that was granted in part in a Rule 23 class action and FLSA collective action involving alleged unpaid overtime compensation
- Prepared a motion to dismiss that was granted with respect to individual defendants and one institutional defendant in a case involving constitutional rights claims against a public entity
