Jason Shane is a Senior Counsel in GRSM’s Commercial Litigation, Construction, and Professional Liability practices. His practice encompasses the defense of businesses and individuals in a wide variety of claims involving commercial disputes, professional liability, and general liability matters.
- Successfully defended appeal in wrongful death matter involving issues of premises liability arising out of motor vehicle curb-jumping accident in San Jose, after prevailing on summary judgment in trial court. (Jeronimo v. Alliance Credit Union, California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, Division 3, Case No. G060140 (on appeal from Santa Clara County Superior Court, Case No. 17CV316303).)
- Second-chaired trial team in successful defense of product liability matter arising out of 11-fatality single-vehicle accident involving a bus formerly owned by client. (Lee v. Greyhound Lines, Inc., Sacramento County Superior Court, Case No. 34-2008-00035502.)
- Obtained summary judgment on behalf of Amtrak in breach of contract lawsuit brought by Caltrans arising out of defense and liability obligations relating to multi-fatality railroad crossing accident. (People v. Nat’l R.R. Pass. Corp., Sacramento County Superior Court, Case No. 34-2009-00036140.)
- Successfully defended Ninth Circuit appeal in matter arising out of the federal Truth-in-Lending Act after prevailing on summary judgment in trial court. (Slojewski v. Polam Federal Credit Union, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, Case No. 11-15018 (on appeal from U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, Case No. 3:09-cv-03011-JCS).)
