Joseph Monahan focuses his practice on commercial litigation, contract disputes, insurance coverage, defamation, business torts, trade secrets and unfair competition matters as well as class action defense. He has represented real estate developers, medical device manufacturers, venture capitalists, insurers, reinsurers, brokers, entertainment and film production companies, a documentary filmmaker, major universities and professional practices, among others, in a wide range of matters, including through government investigations, trials, arbitrations, mediation and appellate proceedings.

- After extensive motion practice in multiple courts, reached favorable resolution of dispute concerning alleged fraud, RICO and ERISA violations with respect to the financing of a major entertainment facility.
- Defense of RICO, fraud and Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law claims brought by putative class against real estate industry defendants.
- Successfully represented medical device manufacturer accused of design patent infringement through trial and Federal Circuit appeal.
