Joshua R. Hecker focuses his practice on commercial litigation, data privacy, cybersecurity, and related matters. Drawing on years of litigation experience in New York, he takes a risk-based approach to assisting clients through the digital forensics and incident response process following cybersecurity incidents.

Joshua advises clients on state and federal data breach notification requirements, as well as information security, data privacy governance, and policy matters. He helps clients navigate complex and time-sensitive cyber incidents while working to maintain a calm and effective response environment.

His data breach experience also informs his work on preventive security measures, including privacy program management, frameworks, and operations. Joshua understands that each client has unique needs and works to develop cybersecurity programs that evolve with changing business requirements and operating environments.

Joshua holds CIPP/US/E and CIPM certifications through the International Association of Privacy Professionals. He also earned a Security+ certification from CompTIA and is Certified in Cybersecurity through the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2).
