Justin Holmes is a Partner practicing in the GRSM Philadelphia office. He has a national practice centered on defending organizations in class actions and other data privacy-related litigation, as well as handling regulatory investigations for clients from a wide breadth of industries in matters stemming from data privacy and security incidents. An experienced litigator, Justin has represented clients in federal district court, state court, and governmental tribunals throughout the country. He is well-versed in every stage of the litigation process.
- Extensive experience defending and resolving complex privacy related class action lawsuits including data breach class action cases alleging claims on behalf of tens of millions of putative class members, in jurisdictions all over the country for clients throughout the health care, financial, general commercial, and public sectors of the economy.
- Provided counsel and defense to companies around the country in tracking-technology related litigation involving all manner of claims including the Video Privacy and Protection Act (“VPPA”); the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (“ECPA”); the California Invasion of Privacy Act (“CIPA”); and any number of related federal and state statutory and common law causes of action.
- Represented a great number of the largest health care companies in the country in complex privacy class-actions involving putative classes in the millions of individuals.
- Represented large financial institutions in complex class action lawsuits involving data breaches and associated privacy claims.
- Represented one of the nation’s largest student loan servicers in a consolidated putative data breach class action matter comprised of more than 20 cases from around the country.
- Achieved formal centralization and consolidation of more than 50 related data breach actions before the Judicial Panel on Multi-district Litigation.
- Counseled a number of corporate clients through governmental and internal investigations.
