Kate Patrick has significant experience in issues relating to insolvency, restructuring, and bankruptcy law from both the law firm and in-house perspective. During Kate’s more than 20 years of practice, she has represented debtors, debtors-in-possession, trustees, creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors, asset purchasers, claim investors, and other parties in bankruptcy and out-of-court workouts and related litigation.

Kate’s bankruptcy and restructuring experience includes, among other areas, manufacturing, oil and gas, retail, public/private partnerships and corporate finance transactions. Specific areas of focus include issues relating to distressed credit facilities, including defaults and waivers, and various types of intercreditor agreements, wind-downs and liquidations, asset sales and acquisition, and advising various parties on potential exposure and liability during insolvency and pre-bankruptcy planning, including directors and officers as well as parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies.

Kate is a co-founder and former board member and president of the DFW Association of Young Bankruptcy Lawyers. She is also the former co-chair of the Dallas/Fort Worth Network of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), and former barrister in the John C. Ford Inns of Court.
