Luke Belflower defends insurers, employers, and commercial clients in complex civil litigation. His practice focuses on employment defense and general liability matters, including workplace discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other statutory and common-law employment claims, as well as premises liability and property damage disputes. He also represents contractors and property owners in construction-related litigation involving construction defect allegations, contractual indemnity and risk-transfer issues, and multi-party disputes. Luke regularly represents national and regional carriers and develops early case strategies designed to control exposure and position matters for efficient resolution or trial.
- Defended general contractors and subcontractors in multi-party construction defect litigation involving water intrusion, structural deficiencies, and building envelope claims.
- Represented national insurers in additional insured and contractual indemnity disputes arising from commercial construction and premises liability matters.
- Obtained dismissal and narrowing of claims in state and federal court through summary judgment, judgment on the pleadings, and motions to dismiss.
- First-chaired a bench trial involving fraud and statutory non-disclosure allegations.
- Defended corporate designees, project managers, and technical experts in depositions involving scope-of-work, causation, and risk-allocation issues.
- Represented employers in workplace-related litigation, including negligence, statutory employment claims, and business tort disputes.
