Marc Julian R. Vasquez defends large corporations, mid-sized and small businesses, and non-profits against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation (under the Fair Employment and Housing Act and the Labor Code), wrongful termination, wage-and-hour violations (in single-plaintiff cases, class actions, and Private Attorneys General Act representative actions), and Title IX violations.
Recent Successes
- Motion for summary judgment granted on workers’ compensation exclusivity grounds where former employee brought negligent misrepresentation claim against private university client. Successfully briefed and argued case on appeal in California Court of Appeal, Sixth Appellate District, securing unanimous decision affirming summary judgment.
- Defeated motion to remand in U.S. District Court for Northern District of California after “snap removal” for in-state defendant.
