Max H. Trembitsky

Senior Counsel

Max H. Trembitsky is Senior Counsel in the New York office of GRSM and is a member of the Product & General Liability practice group. Max specializes in product liability defense with a focus on defending domestic and foreign manufacturers and distributors in civil litigation throughout the United States and internationally.

Max graduated from City University of New York at Bernard M. Baruch College, cum laude. Thereafter, he attended Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. During law school, Max was as a member of the Criminal Appeals Clinic and argued a felony appeal before the New York State Appellate Division First Department. He was also a part of the Legal Aid Society’s Criminal Appeals Bureau where he successfully petitioned the Appellate Division to reverse the lower Courts’ decisions.

Max has extensive experience defending complex, high exposure medical malpractice cases, and was previously a part of a litigation team that defended a major U.S. auto manufacturer in asbestos litigation.

Max is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he teaches Lawyering and Legal Writing.

 

  • Secured the voluntary dismissal of a state court product liability lawsuit on behalf of a power strip manufacturer, involving a total-loss incident and a multi-million-dollar settlement demand.
  • Prevailed on appeal in a lawsuit against a power strip manufacturer seeking $1 million in damages, arising from severe electrical burns sustained by a 15-year-old plaintiff when a metallic necklace contacted the exposed prongs of an iPhone charger that was partially plugged into a power strip.
  • Successfully resolved a multi-million dollar exposure personal injury lawsuit against a leading cellphone manufacturer and retailer alleging that the cellphone’s battery failed and severely burned the plaintiff’s leg.
  • Obtained dismissal and prevailed on appeal of lawsuit against electric scooter manufacturer seeking recovery of $20 million dollars for traumatic brain injuries caused when the brakes on an allegedly defective scooter failed to operate.
