Michelle Goodman brings more than a decade of in-house experience working for entertainment and digital media companies to GRSM’s national employment litigation practice. Her transition to employment litigation and counseling reflects her longstanding focus on compliance, risk management, and strategic legal guidance. She has experience representing production companies, talent agencies, celebrity home offices, and other entertainment industry businesses in connection with complex legal matters at the intersection of employment, entertainment, and intellectual property law.

At GRSM, Michelle represents employers across all industries in disputes before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, defending against claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wage and hour violations.

In her prior in-house roles, Michelle served as a Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs and handled general counsel duties, including overseeing human resources, handling a wide range of employment-related matters, and advising on broader company management issues, giving her a practical understanding of the crossover between legal compliance and business operations.

Earlier in her career, Michelle spent a decade as a litigator, where she handled a diverse portfolio of cases spanning general civil, corporate, intellectual property, entertainment, construction defect, insurance coverage litigation, and bankruptcy. This broad litigation background laid the foundation for her strategic and well-rounded approach to legal problem-solving.

Michelle’s combination of litigation experience and in-house knowledge provides a unique perspective to employment litigation and counseling, allowing her to deliver practical, cost-conscious solutions that align with clients’ business goals. She was drawn to GRSM in part due to her deep roots in the entertainment industry, and she continues to leverage her industry knowledge and network to serve clients in both entertainment and other sectors—offering outside general counsel services anchored in employment law.
