Raquel V. Chavez focuses her practice on professional liability defense, privacy and data security litigation, technology litigation, and other complex commercial litigation matters. Raquel leverages her litigation, negotiation, and written and oral advocacy skills to develop unique defense strategies that help achieve early resolutions, favorable settlements, and other desirable outcomes for her clients.

Raquel began her career as an assistant district attorney in the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled misdemeanor and felony matters in the Domestic Violence Bureau and Human Trafficking Unit. She later practiced commercial litigation, handling professional liability matters and assisting with trial preparation in the Second Circuit. Raquel subsequently represented medical facilities and medical professionals in medical malpractice defense matters.

Before joining GRSM, Raquel handled general liability matters for luxury real estate and hospitality industry clients, New York Labor Law matters, including Sections 200, 240(1), and 240(6), for construction companies, and motor vehicle litigation matters.
